Why hen feathers are used to absorb hazardous dye?
water soluble hazardous dye Amaranth was removed using biosorbent Hen Feathers from wastewater. The adsorption of the dye was carried out at different pHs, temperatures, amount of adsorbent, contact time, concentration of adsorbate etc. The adsorption studies revealed that the ongoing adsorption validates bothe Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms at temperatures 30,40 and 50C. The adsorption isotherm data was also employed to calculate thermodynamic parameters like Gibb's free energy, change in enthalpy and entropy. Adsorption kinetics of the process was also monitored and specific rate constants for the involved process were calculated at 30,40 and 50C. The adsorption was found to undergo via a first order adsorption kinetics and through film diffusion process in the entire concentration range
